Applications for the AKA program this year are now OPEN. Why be an Ading? For someone who wants to get involved on campus, make friends, network, and find a family/community away from home, it can be difficult in college. Putting yourself out there can be intimidating and scary, especially on a big campus where everyone seems like they know each other or have friends already. How? Being a part of a big brother, big sister program allows you to do all these things, with a family and support system right behind you. You'll be paired with a big sister (Ate) and big brother (Kuya) who are there to be your friends, mentors, and most importantly family here on campus. Call them up to go to events, eat on campus, study, ask school-related questions and have late night life talks. Remember, there are no time commitments. How much you see your Kuya/Ate depends on you! What? PSA's AKA Program. It is all the above and more. We encourage you to come be a part of this amazing community.

 

Why be a Kuya/Ate? For someone who has been a part of the ASU community or been at the U of M previously, you have knowledge and experience that is so valuable to freshman/new students. All of us have felt and seen what this amazing community has to offer. But not everyone has this experience. But we can do something about that. YOU can make a difference in someone's experience here at the U. And who knows? Maybe your Ading will teach you something that you didn't know about yourself too. How? Being a Kuya/Ate and mentor an Ading. Be there for them, teach them, support them, push them. Share your knowledge, grow as a leader and throw yourself out of your comfort zone.
